I think Frodo took the ring in the first place at the Council of Elrond because even then, he could not part with it.

No selflessness whatsoever.

Reality in movies

I was watching some movie of AB when he was the angry young man... and it was the usual, morally strong hero, corrupt villain (who, of course, has to be either a gold or a drugs smuggler), and how the hero battles against slurs on his character and wins in the end.

Those movies were so much simpler. The formula film, to me, is always more fun to watch than the morbid reality films (blind heroines, page 3 social jerks, etc.).

Why so?
